Urban Decay
Urban decay: the breakdown of cities, the abandonment of buildings, a collapse in quality of life. The physical manifestations of urban decay are mere metaphors for the social implications of a city that falls apart. Ultimately, the physical collapse of the surrounding urban environment, which was built to smother the natural world, can lead to a psychological degradation of the people that live within these industrial confines. Abandonment. Neglect. Of people. Of structures. That we’ve moved on from. But these crumbling walls are filled with the markings of the people and the lives that lived within. Their voices give the space its power. Urban decay.
